Lip Fillers
Dermal fillers can be used to plump up and augment the lips by restoring volume and definition. They can also be used to tackle imperfections such as asymmetry, smoker’s lines, and wrinkled lips.
The most commonly used dermal fillers are Hyaluronic acid-based. Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar that is contained in almost every part of our body and because it is naturally occurring substance within our body it is safe, effective; therefore, very unlikely to cause allergy. As we age the body produces less and less Hyaluronic acid and we start to lose other structures and substances that provide the contour and volume to the face.
You can book in for a lip filler treatment at our Brighton or Seaford clinics through our online booking calendar or contact us for further information.

Mid Face Dermal Fillers
Over time the face loses fat and bone resorption can occur leading to mid facial areas becoming saggy, flat or even having a hollow appearance. This includes the cheeks and tear troughs (the area beneath the eye).
Dermal fillers can be used to restore the lost volume in these areas. They can also be used to add shape and definition to areas such as the nose (non-surgical rhinoplasty). A non-surgical substitute for conventional surgery, it can create fantastic results in a matter of minutes.

Lower Face Dermal Fillers
As part of the natural ageing process, the lower face can lose volume leading to the generation of and deepening of creases such as the nose to mouth lines and marionette lines. This can cause a grim or sad look to the face.
Dermal fillers can be used to restore the lost volume and fill out these creases creating a more refreshed appearance. Areas such as the chin and jawline can also be injected with dermal filler to create a more defined structure to the face or to balance the profile.

Hand Fillers
The hands can be one of the most telltale signs of age. The natural ageing process leads to a loss of elasticity, thinning of the skin and the underlying tissue meaning veins, tendons and bones become more prominent and visible.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) or Semi-Permanent (CaHA) Dermal fillers can be injected into the back of the hands at multiple points to restore the lost volume, returning a youthful look to the hands. Results can last even as long as 2 years.

Dermal Filler FAQ's
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are part of a category of what are called “injectables.” They plump up fine lines, wrinkles, and augment the lips and cheeks by restoring volume and definition.
The most commonly used fillers are Hyaluronic acid-based.
The Sloan Clinics uses a combination of non-permanent and semi-permanent fillers depending on the area that is being treated and the effects that are desired. The types of dermal fillers we use include Juvéderm, Vycross range, Revolax and Radiesse.

Am I a suitable candidate for dermal filler treatment?
Facial fillers are suitable for use on anyone who desires to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines or wants to add volume and structure to their face. Fillers can also be used to treat scarring that might have occurred as a result of acne. Although there is no known risk in using fillers for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, it would still be advisable to wait before seeking treatment.
Who will perform the treatment?
We believe strongly that injectable treatments should only be carried out by qualified and experienced practitioners. This is why our treatments are carried out by Dr Emma Sloan. She has seen countless patients over the years and carried out all types of skincare treatments, including dermal fillers.
What areas can be treated?
There are many areas that can be treated using fillers, including crow’s feet, frown lines, smoker’s lines, marionette lines, lips and cheeks. By using fillers, you can greatly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and get back a natural youthful-looking appearance.
Is there any recovery time needed?
With injectable treatments, there may be some swelling and tenderness around the injection points for a couple of days but nothing that would prevent you from being able to go to work.
Will my face have a lumpy appearance after treatment?
No, at The Sloan Clinics we carefully place filler to prevent such complications. With all dermal filler treatments, we offer a skin review after a few weeks, we will invite you back to the clinic to make minor adjustments if they’re needed giving you natural-looking results and always peace of mind.
Will people be able to tell I've had work done?
In most cases, no, they will not. That is – they might notice that you look better but won’t assume that you’ve had any kind of treatment because the results will be very natural-looking. We know that most patients would like their work to be subtle and not something that will cause people to be shocked at their appearance. This is why we always take a ‘less is more’ approach with our injectable treatments, such as dermal fillers and Botox.
